I am an author, psychologist and teacher, and live in Whitstable, Kent.
I write the Rahman and Maguire series of crime novels, which are set in Tower Hamlets, East London, and are published by HQ/Harper Collins.
Having grown up in a sleepy village outside Chichester in West Sussex, I ditched green fields and the downs at the age of seventeen for North London and a degree in French and German. I then worked in sales, marketing and finally fundraising before going back to university to study for a BSc Psychology. After that, I undertook teacher training and taught GCSE and A-level Psychology in London for 10 years, and finally left school-teaching in 2012 to concentrate on writing and begin an MA. My first school was in Tower Hamlets, where the Rahman and Maguire novels are set, and I've used my experience of living and teaching in the area to inform my plot, characters and setting.
Writing, psychology and learning are still my passions.
